Institutional Life Product Manager

The Institutional Life Department (IL) offers sophisticated life insurance products in the Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI), Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) and Corporate Sponsored markets, designed to help clients support their employees.

New York Life is seeking a highly talented and driven product manager to join our dynamic, high-performing team to lead the BOLI and COLI product development area.

This position will lead, enhance, and be responsible for supporting a competitive BOLI and COLI product suite that meets client needs, suitable for our distribution channels, and adds value to the company.

What you’ll do :

Develop and own the multi-year product development process working across all the areas of Institutional Life and business partners.

Responsible for all aspects of product development process, from product ideation to business specifications and a successful product introduction.

• Collaborate across New York Life and the industry to develop innovative product ideas and concepts
• Provide input on policy and rider contract drafting (and all associated documents) in partnership with the product filing and legal professionals.
• Develop and accountable for materials and presentations that support governance approvals necessary to move forward, working closely with Actuarial professionals and others within the business.
• Understand and supplement the BOLI and COLI competitive information to identify thoughtful differentiation opportunities and industry best practices.
• Product Owner for all technology prioritization & delivery related to product development
• Understand and track all regulatory issues and implications for the BOLI and COLI markets including both insurance regulations and banks regulations

What you need for the job :

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years’ pertinent experience
• Experience in roles requiring in-depth research / analysis; leading complex cross functional initiatives
• Demonstrated history as an energetic and curious leader
• Passion for leading change and challenging the status quo
• Deep understanding of life insurance products
• Honed project management skills
• Passion for leading and developing talent
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and a desire to regularly collaborate
• Experience partnering with technology teams to deliver and support product innovation
• Ability to travel at least quarterly

• MBA, CFA, career ASA / FSA.
• Series 6 or 7

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with remote working Mondays / Fridays and

on-site collaboration in our New York office Tuesdays / Wednesdays / Thursdays.

Salary range : $115,000-$175,000
