Position Title : Graduate Assistant Coach, Women’s Volleyball

Reporting To : Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and Athletic Director

Job Overview : The Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Volleyball program works under the direction of the head coach and assists with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program.

Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, and other administrative duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director.

Essential Functions :

• Work under the direction of the head coach for the women’s volleyball program.
• Assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program, including but not limited to : coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, film breakdown, counseling, and other duties.
• Serve as program representative for initiatives including but not limited to department staff meetings and campus events (Open House, Admitted Students Day, etc.

if head coach is not present.

• Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner.
• Follow all NCAA, GNAC, and Athletics Department guidelines.
• Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and to assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College.
• All other duties are assigned by the head coach, director of athletics, and / or athletic administrative staff. Duties included but not limited to : assisting with the department’s Study Hall program, driving campus vans for road contests and providing support with home event management.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and / or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and / or coach.
• Knowledge of collegiate rules and demonstrated compliance with said rules.
• Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet the qualifications for the position.

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Acceptance to the Albertus Magnus College full-time graduate program of one of the following programs : Master of Business Administration (MBA) Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL) Master of Science in Criminal Justice

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
• General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
• A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.

Work Schedule Requirements :

• Special Work Schedule Requirements : This position includes weekend and evening hours.
• Graduate Assistant Coaches are expected to fulfill a commitment to the Athletic Department in line with the department commitment to educational benefits as outlined in the Graduate Assistant Contract and handbook.
• A Graduate Assistant Coach is expected to meet the expectations regarding time and performance as established by the Head Coach and the department.
