The Opportunity
As a Material Planner I, you will be at the forefront of material requirements planning (MRP). Your role will involve the strategic management of key planning variables, including demand consumption, inventory levels, and lead times.
Your expertise will be crucial in generating time-phased plans for material and ingredient needs, adhering to established planning policies.
The primary objective of this role is to guarantee the availability of raw materials, thereby supporting manufacturing plans and ensuring we meet our customer service level targets.

This role reports to the Materials Planning Manager and duties include but are not limited to the following;
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in tools or systems that drive material requirements planning (e.g., SAP, JdA).
- Monitor inventory and production for material availability.
- Use planning methods to optimize inventory costs and efficiency.
- Share constrained material issues and recovery plans with relevant teams.
- Investigate supply shortfalls, excess stock, and inventory discrepancies affecting service levels.
- Control inventory levels and manage raw material obsolescence by updating SKUs.
- Communicate operational issues, initiate corrective actions, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Use MRP to meet material requirements for manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and production plans to ensure material availability.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years).
- Experience with manufacturing processes and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to handle practical problems and interpret various types of instructions.
- Proficient in email, record keeping, database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Understanding of the pay-to-procure process.
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Excel. (Advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Excellent communication skills.
