Southwestern University , located in Georgetown, Texas is accepting applications for the Director of the Sarofim School of Fine Arts Administration.
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty, this position represents the Sarofim School of Fine Arts (SSFA) and in partnership with the finance department manages the school’s non-departmental budgets and accounts.
Additionally, this position supports student recruitment, coordinates the Fine Arts season schedule, and handles contracts in collaboration with the Director of Contracts and Procurement.
The Director supervises four professional staff and creates systems to support Fine Arts faculty and staff. This role also involves managing ticketing, event operations, and facility maintenance for the Fine Arts Center.
This is a full-time, twelve-month, in person, exempt position with that reports to the Dean of the Faculty.
Primary Duties :
- Represents the SSFA in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering a cohesive community within the Fine Arts sector.
- Collaborates with the Finance Office to manage SSFA’s general operating budgets and provide oversight of departmental accounts.
- Work with SSFA faculty and the Office of Admission to support student recruitment efforts and related initiatives.
- Coordinates the Fine Arts season schedule in partnership with department chairs to ensure effective program planning and execution.
- Manages contractual arrangements in collaboration with the Director of Contracts and Procurement, using established templates for contracts and procurement.
- Create and implement systems and processes that support the activities of Fine Arts faculty and staff within the SSFA.
- Partners with the Senior Director of Conference and Event Sales to explore and support outside venue rental opportunities in the Fine Arts Center.
- Supervises the Fine Arts Administrative Assistant, Venue and Production Manager, and two Studio Art Technical Assistants, ensuring effective team management and support.
- Oversees all ticketing and front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient event management.
- Serves as the building manager for the Fine Arts Center, handling facility operations and maintenance.
Position Requirements :
- Master of Arts Management, Master of Fine Arts, or a degree with similar goals that prepare the individual to work in the arts management arena.
- At least three years of professional experience in a Director or role in the arts.
- Experience collaborating with others on all aspects of event planning and implementation.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in budget administration.
- Excellent computer skills, graphic design, and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Possesses leadership skills and a professional work ethic.

Preferred Position Requirements :
- Experience coordinating contractual agreements with guest artists, staff, and faculty.
- Knowledge and / or experience (academic or professional) with web development, desktop publishing, and website management.
