Job Summary
Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Physician specializing in Internal Medicine Oncology to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.
This position involves studying, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of illnesses and ailments, with a focus on providing exceptional care to our veterans.

Primary Responsibilities
Patient Care :
Interview, examine, and select appropriate diagnostic tests.Interpret and collate results to coordinate patient care.Provide preventative care, detect developing health issues, and advise on healthy habits.
Communicate and document with clarity to ensure cohesive patient care.Perform procedural skills including EKG interpretation, lumbar puncture, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, intrathecal chemotherapy, intrapleural chemotherapy, intraperitoneal chemotherapy, intravenous chemotherapy, and venipuncture.
Collaboration and Communication :
Supervise midlevel providers within the Hematology / Oncology section.Share after-hour call responsibilities in rotation with section physicians.
Provide consultative input to both outpatient and inpatient care.Collaborate effectively with midlevel providers and physician colleagues.
Educational and Administrative Duties :
Participate in educational programs for section personnel and medical staff.Engage in monitoring the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care.
Attend Hematology / Oncology team meetings and Medicine Service monthly staff meetings.Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments and quality assurance programs.
Complete medical records in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Oncology / Hematology, Chief of Medicine, or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent from an accredited school in the United States or Canada.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is desirable
- Proficiency in a range of procedural skills relevant to oncology.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Strong ethical conduct and role modeling for all levels of the organization.
- Ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Ability to obtain and complete any required federal background check and credentialing process
