As a pastry cook / baker at Hani's bakery + café, you can expect to make cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, breads, and viennoiserie.
You will rotate between all the different stations. We're looking for someone who understands the value of teamwork, is kind and respectful to colleagues, clean and organized, and is excited to learn and grow within the company.
A willingness to work the savory station, which includes breakfast and lunch service and execution of made-to-order items, is welcomed.
The job expectations :
- Demonstrate an understanding of baking and pastry techniques, production, and proper use of kitchen equipment
- Consistently ensure that your assigned station tasks are executed and prepared efficiently and in a timely manner according to the standards taught by the bakery's culinary leaders.
- Maintain a sound and inquisitive working knowledge of ingredients and retain new knowledge of ingredients used in our cuisine.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and hospitably with all teams throughout the day and during service.
- Maintain an orderly and neat work area, displaying calm professionalism to promote food quality and reduce waste. Follow all recipes, portioning, proper storage, and FIFO to minimize waste.
What we need from you :
- Basic knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs. of weight.
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
- Expected to work approximately 40-50 hours a week
- English fluency and additional languages are preferred but not required
