Job Summary :
The Staff Accountant supports centralized accounting operations, working directly with offsite hotel properties to ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial information.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None
Duties / Responsibilities :
Review General Ledger and prepare monthly journal entries and accruals.
Prepare monthly financial statements and ad-hoc reports for management.
Work with the hotel property regarding all accounting issues for the property.
Resolve problems and maintain good rapport and communications with property staff and management.
Assess internal controls and processes at hotel and ensure consistent application of company accounting policies.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other employees
Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Financial reporting experience a plus
Education and Experience :
Associate, BA or BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field desired
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
