Summary

Department : Respiratory Therapy 001

Shift Timings : 06 : 30 - 19 : 00 Monday to friday (3 Days / 12 Hours)

Per Week : 36 Hours

• A Respiratory Therapist performs patient assessment, evaluation for appropriate therapy, administration of therapy, consultation with other health care providers, diagnostic testing, implementation and troubleshooting of equipment and monitoring of patient.
• These services are provided as appropriate for patient age to include neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric adult.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of three years of current Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
• Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist Iowa state license
• One year of Cerner experience
