The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) is a growing and successful nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate cures for the major diseases of our time through stem cell research.

If so, we invite you to apply to join our dynamic team as a Human Resources Associate. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic HR decisions and enhance our employee experience.

What you'll do :

  • Employee Support and HR Administration :
  • Employee Recordkeeping : Maintain employee files, and assist with data and audit preparation.
  • Onboarding / Offboarding Support : Help Facilitate the on / offboarding process, ensuring seamless integration for new hires and leavers.
  • HR Program Development : Collaborate on creating and implementing innovative HR initiatives and programs that promote employee growth and satisfaction.
  • Employee Support : Act as a resource for HR-related inquiries, guiding organizational policies and practices.
  • Organizational Charts : Create and update organizational charts to reflect structural changes and staffing needs.

Data / Analysis / HRIS :

  • Data Analysis : Collect and analyze HR data from multiple sources, including HRIS, payroll, employee surveys, exit interviews, and employment records, identifying trends and patterns in engagement, attendance, turnover, and compliance.
  • Data Management : Maintain precise employee records and initiate data change requests, including staffing updates, hires and terminations, job changes, and salary modifications.
  • HRIS Administration : Serve as a primary administrator for various HR systems, including Lattice, Skillsurvey, OrgWeaver, Traliant, etc.

ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.

  • Reporting : Prepare comprehensive reports on data findings and present insights to department leadership, enabling informed decision-making.
  • HR Program Evaluation : Conduct audits and evaluations of HR programs and benefits, offering recommendations for improvement.

Compliance :

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including I-9 & E-verify documentation, EEOC requirements, and maintaining necessary records.
  • Policy Development : Assist in developing personnel policies and updating the employee handbook and policy guides.
  • Legal Compliance : Monitor adherence to labor laws and regulations, proactively addressing compliance issues.

Special Projects :

Contribute to special projects as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.

What We Are Looking For :

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience : 6 months to 1 year of HR experience, including internships or a combination of education and related administrative support experience.

Prior experience with an HRIS is a plus.

  • Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel. Ability to quickly grasp and teach new systems and technologies.
  • Analytical Aptitude : Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Legal Knowledge : Proficient understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in HR operations, including onboarding, compliance, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Time Management : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidentiality : Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Efficiency : Capability to assess and optimize processes for greater efficiency.
  • Work Arrangement : Hybrid with a minimum of three days per week onsite.

$55,000 - $68,000 a yearThe base starting salary range for the Associate level position is $55,000 - $68,000. NYSCF has a 35-hour workweek, and the Associate level is classified as non-exempt.

Multiple factors, including your experience, determine final offer amounts and levels and may vary from those listed above.

If a visa is required, NYSCF will cover all of those costs. Relocation will sometimes be necessary; therefore, we will provide you with an allowance.
