ES222 Senior Aerospace Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Engineer with airborne field campaign expertise. The candidate should have a strong background in airborne science research and project management, as well as a comprehensive understanding of NASA and commercially obtainable flight assets and aircraft services.

Required :

• M.S. or higher in Aerospace Engineering Sciences or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and operating airborne remote sensing instruments.
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Experience providing expertise in field operations, safety, and logistics for airborne field campaigns and scoping studies.
• Systems engineering experience for aircraft instruments (e.g., preparation, mounting, operation, dismounting).

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with residency in the US for the past 3 years is required.

Desired :

• Airborne project management support, including the preparation and completion of Field Campaign Investigation Confirmation Review and Investigation Implementation Plan.
• A comprehensive understanding of NASA ground and aircraft assets, consult on and support aircraft selection (commercial and / or Agency) and aircraft services procurement to aid in the selection and contracting of aircraft for field campaigns.
• Experience selecting airfields and coordinating relevant logistics for Arctic airborne operations.
