Job Summary :

The Field Application Engineer, Cellular Modules, will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to customers integrating Semtech cellular modules into their products.

This role involves collaborating with sales, product management, and R&D teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful product integration.

Strong presentation skills, solid wireless technical knowledge, initiative, and business acumen are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities :

Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and prospects, focused on the Semtech cellular module portfolio

Assist customers with the integration of Semtech cellular modules into their products, providing guidance on both hardware and software aspects of the integration

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and prospects

Troubleshoot and drive to resolution complex technical issues related to the integration of cellular modules into the customers’ products

Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions, helping to close sales

Collaborate with product management and R&D teams to provide feedback and drive product improvements based on customer input

Support customers in the certification process of their products with cellular network operators

Conduct customer, distributor, and partner training and product demonstrations

Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings to promote Semtech cellular module products

Provide technical responses to RFIs and RFPs using Semtech products and services.

Contribute to the development application notes for use of Semtech cellular module products

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

5+ years’ experience in wireless telecommunications

Strong technical knowledge of cellular systems required

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are a must

Candidate must be highly self-motivated

Software and / or hardware design experience are a plus.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in the IoT marketplace

Wireless / Cellular background

Hardware / Software design skills

Microprocessor integration

Embedded application design

Knowledge of networking protocols (IP, TCP, Ethernet, IP Addressing, Subnetting, DNS, security)

Project Management Skills to be able to prioritize time and resources to meet customer timelines and complete equipment certifications

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $117,000 $169,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to : job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
