Position Information
The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) is seeking experienced professionals who are available to share their knowledge and skills in the academic setting of a Bachelor of Science degree Program in HTM.
The position reports directly to the Department Chair. Resumes will be reviewed as needed for each semester. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate HTM courses (1 to 3 courses) per semester and engage in supportive departmental activities.
Courses may be live, hybrid or on-line. Live and hybrid courses may be offered at Main Campus Princess Anne, USG Rockville, or USM Hagerstown.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in HTM, Business or Related discipline.
Minimum of three years experience in HTM or related profession including internships. Bachelor’s plus minimum 10 years’ professional experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the college level Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Evidence of strong communication to include written communication skills, computer and critical thinking abilities, and excellent presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty and staff in the Department and University and with students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Certifications / Registrations Must apply to obtain the CHE or Certified Hospitality Educator designation, upon employment, if not held presently.
