The Opportunity
We are seeking a Finance Director (Controller) to lead a talented and high-quality team in support of our technology mission, member companies, business partners, and the broader Bluetooth organization.

The Role
The Finance Director (Controller) leads seven individuals (including a manager) across two teams, including : Accounting and Membership.
The Finance Director owns all facets of AP, AR, Payroll, and Accounting and Technical Accounting, including regulatory and tax compliance, internal controls, and reporting, as well as Membership administration.
The Finance Director reports to the CFO and supports additional key F&A priorities : financial analyses, financial audit, K audit, annual budget, and special projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and grow a team of talented professionals
- Drive vision and strategy of accounting & membership teams
- Architect and drive internal control program to greater maturity
- Own transactional processes (AP, AR, Payroll, etc.)
- Own technical accounting
- Improve financial close (TB final) from three days to two days within 12-18 months (with staff able to accomplish the deadline while working normal hours no overtime needed)
- Own compliance activities (financial audit, K audit, fed / state tax, etc.)
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all functional team(s) and leadership
- Support CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors business / analytical needs
- Own new-member in-take process and on-going member administration
- Seek continual improvements in Membership self-help initiative, processes, and performance metrics.
Skills and Requirements
The successful candidate will have :
- Current CPA license if you are not a licensed CPA, please do not apply
- Minimum 5+ years supervising / managing people
- Demonstrated supervision of hybrid team (combination of remote & in-person)
- Demonstrated strategic mindset combined with the ability to execute through staff
- Unafraid to hire people far better than yourself
- Technically adept able to quickly master different technologies without assistance
- Advanced Excel skills or higher required (i.e. there is a test to demonstrate your capabilities)
- Intermediate to advanced at analytical or financial modeling
- Strong to expert technical accounting knowledge & skills
- Strong to expert knowledge of internal controls (i.e. can design a framework from scratch)
- Highly organized let’s say that again highly organized

- Always seeking improvements and better ways to do things

- Travel worldwide up to 10% of the time
