Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager / Supervisor, the Lead Person is responsible for assisting the supervisor on a daily basis.

Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Manages multiple departments in the absence of the supervisor and / or manager
• Picks products according to order, either manually or with electronic scanning devices
• Lifts, stacks and arranges product on a pallet in preparation for shipment
• Generates labels and prepares paperwork necessary for order shipment
• Operates computer system associated with in-motion equipment which is used to scan and weigh packages
• Sorts and moves packages that require special handling
• Operates meter for packages shipping via USPS
• Enters shipping information into appropriate computer program
• Loads containers / trucks as appropriate
• Assists in lift and stocking operations
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area
• Assists in training other associates
• Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMP guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Prior warehousing experience required
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Basic computer and mathematical skills
• Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions
• Standing / operating equipment for extended periods of time
• Regularly lifting up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting and / or moving up to 70 pounds with assistance
• Able to walk, bend, lift, twist and reach with hands and arms
• Maneuver pallet rider with load up to 1200 pounds
• Exposed to various levels of traffic from material handling equipment
• Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish)
