SUMMARY
Prepares prescriptions and provides other health-care products under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements
- Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist
- Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security
- Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies
- Enters data in computer system; records all prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements
- Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal
- Performs general clerical duties for the department
- Maintains core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment
- Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policy, rules, regulations, and procedures; participates in on-going in-service training as well as external training
- Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course, or a minimum of 1 year of on-the-job training
- National certification preferred, but not required
- State licensing, as required
- Must complete all in-service and external training requirements
- Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS
- Two years of relevant experience preferred
