Position Summary

Responsible for the front office duties of all medical practices as assigned and / or supports clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance with the Medical Assistant's Scope of Practice.

Candidate must be available to cover full time Medical Assistants for PTO or LOA absences and to support annual flu vaccine clinics.

Front Office Responsibilities

• Greet new hires / employees upon arrive and departure / check-out.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer management system.
• Ensure waiting areas are safe, clear and free from hazards.
• Knowledge of computer scheduling functions
• Assist new hires with forms related to pre-employment health screens
• Ensure pre-arrival new-hire process is complete.
• Adhere to Simply Better methodology.

Back Office Responsibilities

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider, including administration of Tuberculin skin testing, blood draws for serology of immunity, administration of vaccines, and N95 fit testing.
• Perform the new-hire rooming process : interview new hires and measure vital signs.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure :
• Timely patient flow.
• Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
• Maintain instruments.
• Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
• Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
• Provide instructions to new hires as ordered / instructed by Provider.
• Implement orders as directed by Provider.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients’ plan of care.
• Demonstrates continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
• Participate in processes that improve standards of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.
• Other duties as assigned .
• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years 20 experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience

One (1) year medical office and clinical experience in an ambulatory care environment required.

Education

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
