Job Summary : Lafayette Group is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to support Evidence Act efforts underway at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
This position will promote awareness and adoption of evidence-building practices among stakeholders at FEMA. The position will plan and execute various stakeholder engagement activities and develop a variety of strategic communications materials.
Job Responsibilities :
- Provide communications and outreach support for internal and external communications strategies, including developing messaging content, drafting blog posts, developing / editing slide decks, drafting memos, writing and updating fact sheets, and capturing meeting minutes
- Plan and run interactive monthly working group meetings
- Planning and executing logistics for interactive meetings, including developing creative participatory virtual activities, establishing team roles, and coordinating virtual breakout rooms
- Incorporate client feedback into team deliverables
- Help manage a shared mailbox system
- Review stakeholder forms against client checklists
- Articulate complex concepts to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Build strong relationships with team members and clients
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, or a related field
- 0-3 years of professional experience supporting communications projects, meeting management or other similar duties
- Excellent written and verbal communication / presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for following checklists and procedures
- Advanced competency using Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (content development and design), Teams and Outlook
- Strong client relationship skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to interact, collaborate, and network effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, both internal and on the client site
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in project scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government public trust clearance or suitability which will require successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting
Desired Qualifications :
- Experience in federal government consulting
- Experience with program evaluation or research methods
- Existing FEMA EOD / suitability and / or active clearance
Location : Hybrid - Arlington, VA - must be on site at client facility in Washington DC for 1 day per week
Federal Contracts : This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.
S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range : $60 - $75K
