Our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) group are part of the Environment Business Line, responsible for natural, cultural, and land use planning;
environmental permitting and regulatory compliance; and mitigation planning and restoration design efforts associated with infrastructure projects for federal, state, and municipal agencies and private industry clients.
Our work includes projects in the transportation, water, energy, ports, and mining sectors, as well as large- and small-scale land use and resource management planning for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
AECOM is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect with interest and experience in landscape architecture and environmental design with an emphasis in restoration ecology to join our EPP team in Northern California, with offices in Oakland and Sacramento.
Project opportunities will include partnering with AECOM engineers and ecologists on sustainable landscape architecture, habitat restoration, mitigation, environmental design, and other project assignments.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :
Oversee and / or support the preparation of schematic and conceptual designs, construction drawings and specifications, cost estimates, and illustrative drawings and computer-generated graphics.
Provide project / task management for efforts that include landscape design, project site visits to conduct site assessments, monitoring or construction oversight, and other services.
Oversee and / or support the preparation of irrigation plans, details, schedules, including calculations of water demand.
Oversee and / or support the preparation of basis of design, mitigation, vegetation survey, and other reports.
Preparation of planting plans, details, seeding and planting schedules.
Detailed vegetation and tree surveys.
Provide support as-needed to AECOM’s Buildings and Places and Water Business Lines, supporting sustainable infrastructure and nature-based solutions projects.
Provide guidance and mentorship to early career landscape architecture staff.
Support business development efforts, including preparation of scopes and costs and supporting key proposals.
Promote AECOM’s services, identify prospective clients and arrange business meetings with them to pre-position AECOM for potential new projects.
Pursue landscape architectural and restoration ecology RFPs (requests for proposal), lead proposals and participate in interviews and presentations.
Become an AECOM Project Manager through the AECOM PM coursework certification program.
Independently perform technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
