Role Summary
In this role, you will be a member of Rivian's Technical Program Management team, responsible for driving hardware related aspects for the Future Programs team, internally and externally.
You will partner with product, hardware and software engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive hardware development in consumer level products as well as integrate them into Rivian's validation and production environment.
This role will require deep collaboration from various stakeholders from concept to production, requiring strong partnerships with engineering, supply chain, and other teams.
Responsibilities
- As a Technical Program Manager at Rivian, you'll use your product development expertise to lead multi-disciplinary hardware projects from start to finish, managing multiple critical hardware workstreams including electrical, mechanical, test, industrial design and other aspects of hardware development.
- You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and make decisions to unblock development, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
- Drive the planning and implementation of customer features with the cross-functional teams to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analyzing risks, resolve execution issues and communicating status.
- Develop and manage program schedules, technical issues, design release management and resource needs with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Manage communication of progress / status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones, own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
- Identify and solve the top program blockers and adapt lean processes to the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in program management, product management, engineering or similar cross-functional role.
- Track record taking consumer electronics, vehicles and / or other similar hardware devices from concept to launch through the product development process.
- Experience managing design releases, validation test plans, build execution and supply chain management.
- Proficiency with program management software tools (i.e., JIRA, Smartsheets, Agile / Arena, etc.).
- Can dive deep and understand technical challenges while seeing forest for the trees to drive actionable outcomes.
- Can easily switch between concise communication with executives to detailed engineering planning session to vendor engagements and escalations.
- Understands how to accelerate development pace while balancing technical quality and product / design scope.
- Time-efficient with use of meetings and asynchronous communication to drive decisions and next steps.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants : $167,400-$209,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary : Rivian provides robust medical / Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
