We are seeking a dynamic Industrial Project Engineer to join our team near Greenville, SC with periodic travel to clients other manufacturing facilities within the United States.
This is a long-term contract opportunity that could go direct for the right candidate.The Industrial Project Engineer will support a tier-one automotive supplier and is a unique blend of project management, engineering design, and construction management.
You will be an extension of our department, working closely with our client to manage various engineering projects from concept to completion.
A PE (Professional Engineer) certification is not required, but a solid ability to manage engineering projects and an understanding of fluids or power systems is needed.
The ideal candidate will know how to take initiative, seek out answers when needed, and effectively manage projects.Industrial Project Engineer Responsibilities : Lead the design, procurement, installation, debug, start-up, and safe operation of plant equipment, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Manage project documentation, including design reviews, budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.Provide project oversight, contractor management, and ensure equipment modifications are done effectively.
Support production needs by troubleshooting and optimizing equipment operations.Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and maintain equipment reliability.
Write and maintain equipment and mechanical specifications, project plans, and capital requests.Support the preparation of training for emergency and preventative maintenance crews.
Track project progress, control spending, and ensure compliance with safety and risk assessment standards.Industrial Project Engineer Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering strongly desired.
5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in project management.Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, piping, machine design, and equipment startup highly preferred.
Ability to travel to other manufacturing facilities at least 50% of the time.Knowledge of SAP, MS Project, and AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to seek solutions when outside of your expertise.PMP, CEM, or PE certification is a plus, but not required.
