Position Number : Instructor Position Title (Classification Title) : Instructor, 129040 Working Title : Instructor of English Job Summary : The Department of English is seeking a full-time instructor with demonstrated experience teaching General Education courses such as introductory literature courses, first-year composition, and others.
The candidate will teach both face-to-face and online courses, supporting established student learning outcomes and promoting departmental philosophy and curricular goals.
Department instructors participate in mentoring graduate teaching assistants and other service activities. Successful applicants will join a vibrant community committed to professional development, curricular design, and student-centered teaching.
Instructors teach four courses per semester. DepartmentDept of English FLSA : Exempt Minimum Qualifications : Holds at least the master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
The appointee may engage in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and / or service and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure.
Position Qualifications : Master’s degree in English from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Demonstrated experience teaching General Education courses such as introductory literature, first-year composition, and other writing-intensive courses.
Knowledge of contemporary best practices in teaching both face-to-face and online environments. Demonstrated facility with integrating technology into teaching practice.
