Position Overview : SMTC is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our dynamic production floor at our Melbourne, FL facility.

If you’re an EMS industry professional with a proven track record in managing high-performing teams, optimizing workflows, and delivering results, we want you on our team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth production processes, managing WIP, and maintaining on-time product delivery.

You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the Customer Focus Team , to drive continuous improvements in efficiency and quality.

Duties :

• Lead the production team to meet schedules, maintain quality, and manage WIP.
• Ensure on-time completion of all production builds, from quote to delivery .
• Oversee cross-training initiatives to ensure flexibility across different areas on the floor.
• Work closely with the Customer Focus Team to meet customer expectations and resolve production-related issues.
• Continuously monitor throughput, product quality, and production efficiency, making improvements as needed
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures to meet ISO standards .
• Manage production costs, staffing levels, and ensure employee training aligns with operational needs.
• Drive performance through effective leadership, problem-solving, and proactive issue resolution.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience for the Manufacturing Manager :

• Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's in Science / Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably within the EMS industry .
• Strong leadership experience, particularly in production management .
• WIP management and material handling experience are essential.
• Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• IPC certification and fiber optics assembly experience are a plus.
