Managing Consultant, Land Services (Senior Level)

ERM is seeking an experienced and motivated Land Services Managing Consultant based in Minneapolis, MN to support projects primarily in the gas and electric transmission and distribution industry.

The Ideal candidate will support and manage projects for our clients spanning a variety of industry sectors. Additionally, they will negotiate and secure legal land agreements (rights-of-way, leases, grants, fee purchases, etc.

necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of facilities on behalf of our clients. The preferred locations of this role are Minneapolis MN, Milwaukee WI, or Chicago IL ; however, candidates from MN, WI, IL, MI, OH, PA will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Work on multiple projects and serve as project manager to ensure deliverables achieve client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Develop relationships with existing and prospective Clients to identify opportunities to support their projects and project teams.
• Negotiate and secure legal land agreements (rights-of-way, leases, grants, fee purchases, etc.) on behalf of our Clients from affected landowners, whether they are private owners, corporations or government agencies, to permit the construction of facilities, transfer of assets, etc.
• Assist with performing, overseeing or reviewing deed and title research and investigations.
• Act as liaison between affected property owners and our Clients.
• Assist in performing, overseeing or reviewing land valuation studies or their equivalent, but excluding appraisals.
• Support with preparing and submitting applications for various permits, licenses and bonds (road / railroad crossings, driveway permits, building permits, heavy hauling permits, etc.).
• Aid with investigating damage claims, damage assessments and settlement negotiations.
• Assist in supervising staff and third party land agents or other subcontractors.
• Develop proposals, budgets, project plans, schedules, progress reports, scopes of work and other bid documents.
• Support resource loading, workflow management and budget management.
• Manage project land budgets and prepare regular reports on financial progress.

REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelors and / or Masters in environmental studies, planning, geography, or related field; JD, CEP, AICP or similar registration preferred but not necessary.

Or equivalency of 5+ years related experience.

• 5+ years of consulting experience with impact assessments, national / state / local-level environmental reviews, facility siting and permitting, ideally for renewable energy projects.
• Ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects.
• Ability to work both independently and within teams of subject matter experts.
• Experience in developing and implementing successful growth strategies with power generation, electrical transmission, renewable energy projects, mining, oil & gas, technology clients.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
• High degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
• Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.

For the Managing Consultant, Land Services position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $82,808 - $95,000 USD. An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above . This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
