About the Role

Position Summary

The Material Handler Floater is responsible for handling raw materials and finished goods as well as loading and unloading trucks.

The scope of work includes the following processes : receiving, picking, labeling, and shipping. Activities to be performed include but not limited to the following : accurately and efficiently preparing, labeling, scanning, loading, unloading, and moving drums, totes, pails and small containers with raw materials and finished goods, while maintaining a safe working environment.

NOTE : This position will work in different areas such as receiving and shipping, but also act as rotating helper including the Shipping Office in different locations like Bridgewater, NJ and Branchburg, NJ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Correctly receives, moves, ships and transfers materials accurately and timely.

Responsible for safe truck loading and unloading, staging materials in the warehouses, getting raw materials and / or finished products ready for shipping to customers, internal warehouse transfers and / or production.

Must check all labels and documentation for accuracy.

Must put away material and record transactions accurately and timely using RF functions.

Participates in inventory Cycle counts.

Acts as a backup for office personnel making bookings, preparing customer shipments paperwork and running SAP reports.

Associated duties will include data entry using laser scanners and / or computer, receipt & shipping document preparation, successful interaction with the QC and production departments, as well as effective communication with colleagues and logistics supervision to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Other duties including housekeeping, lift truck operation, continuous improvement and training as well as training of new techs when required.

About You

Required Qualifications :

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent level of education is required.
• 1 - 3 years of previous warehouse experience is required.
• Must have experience operating a reach truck and a forklift.
• Ability to lift / maneuver up to 66 lbs. of heavy materials on a regular basis is required.
• Logistics experience is a plus.
• Must be proficient in the English language.
• Self-motivated individual willing to perform hard work.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Experience with SAP and / or RF scanning is a plus.
