Job Description
We are seeking a skilled 2nd shift Electrician who will be responsible for a variety of tasks including LOTO, reading and interpreting tape measures, blueprints, and schematics, using voltmeters, running conduit, pulling wire, running power, wiring up control panels, pulling distribution, running network cables, servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting AC / DC motors and drives up to 480v 3-phase.
You must have a solid understanding of PLCs, be able to read ladder logic, check inputs / outputs, and be familiar with the NEC (National Electric Code).
Occasionally, you may need to modify or create blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Perform LOTO procedures.
- Read and interpret tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
- Use voltmeters for electrical measurements.
- Run conduit and pull wire for electrical installations.
- Wire up control panels and pull distribution lines.
- Run network cables and perform electrical troubleshooting.
- Service, diagnose, and troubleshoot AC / DC motors and drives up to 480v 3-phase.
- Understand and work with PLCs, read ladder logic, and check inputs / outputs.
- Modify or create blueprints as needed.
- Work with equipment such as band saws, cut-off saws, horizontal contour cutters, laser cutters, up to 20-ton presses, slitters, 400HP grinders, glue machines, rollers, conveyors, ABB / Fanuc / Motoman Robots, hydraulics, pneumatics, up to 400 HP motors, bearings, fans, breakers, fuses, sensors, HMIs, and Allen Bradley / Siemens PLCs.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of industrial electric experience up to 480v 3-phase.
- Proficiency in LOTO, new machine installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Experience with AC motors, DC drives, and 3000 amp circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of reading and following ladder logic, and checking inputs / outputs.
- Possession of basic hand tools and a toolbox (power and specialty tools are provided).
- Capability to use a tablet for logging jobs and a laptop for PLCs.
- Knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code).
- High school diploma.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
- Journeyman Electrician certification.
- Familiarity with new technology, such as HMI screens.
