Established in 2004, Alphabet Academy / The Nest has grown to four schools to satisfy the high demand for a unique and joyful, progressive early learning experience.

Using RIE as the foundation of our social and emotional teaching practice, we partner with families with children from 6 weeks through kindergarten to provide the entire family with an unmatched holistic learning experience.

We are seeking a passionate teacher to join the talented, dynamic staff at our Branford location. We provide extensive opportunities for teacher development (professional, emotional, and physical) and profoundly respect the ever-evolving art of teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate :

• Working knowledge of positive discipline, R.I.E, and / or emotionally responsive strategies
• Intentional teaching practices that are grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach
• An eagerness for project-based learning that is child-led
• An associates, bachelors or master's degree in early childhood education / development or related field
• Enthusiasm about nature-based learning, outdoor play in all weather and terrain, and farm-to-table gardening
• Strong classroom management skills
• A solid understanding of child development
• A warm and playful demeanor
