JOB SUMMARY
Work independently and effectively as a team. Work as an integral member of multi-disciplinary healthcare team in an Emergency Department.
Responsible for patient interviews in emergency department : to accurately collect medication histories and to review and update electronic medical records.
The pharmacy technician in emergency department must contact patient’s pharmacy, physician, family members, and / or caregivers to verify medication lists.
The pharmacy technician functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Experience : Three years of pharmacy experience. Both inpatient and retail pharmacy experiences desired
Knowledge and Skills : Proficient in reading and writing; strong communication skills and Competent in basic computer programs (Microsoft window and excel) Bilingual preferred.
License / Certifications : Pharmacy Technician License in the state of California Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required
Equipment : Computer, equipment associated with the compounding of pharmaceuticals.
PAY RANGE
$21.50 - $29.84
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.
Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
