Job Summary
As a Food Services Worker at NYP Westchester, you will be responsible for a variety of duties related to the preparation, serving, and handling of food for patients.
You will work within the Food Services Department to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation : Assist in the preparation of meals for patients, including following specific dietary requirements and portion controls.
- Food Serving : Serve meals to patients, ensuring proper presentation, temperature, and adherence to dietary restrictions.
- Tray Line Setup : Set up and maintain the tray line for meal service, ensuring that all food items are properly prepared and presented.
- Patient Interaction : Interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any food-related concerns or requests.
- Cleaning and Sanitation : Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. Follow all health and safety protocols for food handling and sanitation.
- Stock Management : Assist in the receipt, storage, and inventory of food and supplies. Ensure that all food items are stored according to health and safety regulations.
- Dishwashing : Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Compliance : Follow all departmental policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and sanitation.
Requirements
- Experience : Previous experience in food service or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Skills :
- Ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification : Food Handler’s certification is a plus but not required.
Education
Required Education : High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
