Position Title : Category Manager, Powerplant and Components
Location : Bothell
Reporting to : Sr. Category Manager, Modular and Powerplant
On-Site / Hybrid / Remote : Remote / Hybrid
Travel Required : Up to 40 %
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Professional to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage our engine and engine components commodities.
This role is crucial for long-term strategic planning, securing cross-functional buy-in, and executing procurement strategies effectively.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term procurement strategy for engines and engine components
Ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business objectives and strategic goals
Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality assurance, to gain buy-in and ensure cohesive strategy execution
Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to align on objectives and progress
Lead initiatives to integrate procurement strategies into broader company goals, promoting a unified approach across departments
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery standards
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement
Negotiate contracts and manage supplier agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions
Maintain an in-depth understanding of IC engine emission requirements and ensure compliance in different global regions
Partner with manufacturers and consultants to stay updated on regulatory changes and technological advancements
Provide technical support to procurement teams and other departments to address any issues related to engines and components
Oversee procurement activities at global locations, including the US, Mexico, China, India, and Italy
Manage demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure supply chain efficiency
Travel to internal and supplier sites as necessary to build relationships and monitor operations
Required Qualifications
University degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of work experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on engines or manufacturing
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Intimate knowledge of extended supply chains and pipeline management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
General knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain best practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
The compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 salaried / annual . Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
