Responsible for managing the entirety of the NCAA compliance functions, education, and enforcement of NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University rules and regulations for student-athletes, coaches, staff members, and donors.
Establish and implement processes related to the initial and continuing eligibility of student-athletes in cooperation with Athletic Academic Advising (AAA) and the Athletics Certification Committee.
Develop and implement a robust NCAA rules education program for all constituents both within and outside of the University.
Maintain student-athlete files / records for the Athletics Compliance Office, ensuring that all required NCAA and BIG EAST Conference documentation is up-to-date and preserved according to the institution's document retention policy.
Serve as the primary compliance liaison to the men’s basketball program, and other assigned sports, to ensure adherence to all NCAA and BIG EAST policies and procedures.
Manage compliance of student-athlete complimentary ticket program for all men’s basketball competitions, including staffing the complimentary admission table at all home and away events.
Serve as the primary liaison within the university student services departments including admissions, international student services, AAA, the registrar, etc.
Annually audit all compliance processes related to recruiting, playing and practice, seasons, eligibility, transfers, financial aid, awards, extra benefits, and personnel.
Provide adhoc reporting on compliance functions to the Vice President / Director of Athletics, University President, University Athletics Board (UAB), and Board of Trustees (BOT) as requested.
Serve on the Senior Leadership team within the Athletic Department, which involves strategic planning for the department, representing the department at events, fundraising, game management duties, and administrative functions as directed by the Vice President / Director of Athletics.
Supervises two full time staff.
Manages the budget for the NCAA Student Opportunity and Academic Enhancement Funds.
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's / Advanced Degree preferred.
- 10+ years similar experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, recruiting software (JumpForward or comparable) and NCAA applications including LSDBi, CA, RSRO, and the Academic Portal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and / or intercollegiate athletics environment.
- Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.
- Position requires working evening and weekend hours during school year.
- Attendance at all home men’s basketball games is required.
