The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for supporting and leading inventory, purchasing, and receiving teams at all Berry Lumber and Berco Redwood locations.
This position will help set companywide inventory related policies and best practices for all locations, including inventory tracking, counting, reporting, accuracy, loss prevention, transfers, etc.
This position is also responsible for holding inventory teams accountable to these policies through training and development.
A major focus of this position will be implementing and developing best practice procedures and processes using the ERP platform Epicor to implement and maintain an accurate inventory in the system.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develops inventory reports to improve data integrity with negative inventory and inaccurate inventory quantities.
- Develops and oversees a cycle counting process to ensure an accurate inventory and reconciles any shortages and overages.
- Manges the process of Supplier Returns and communicates with vendors, as necessary.
- Ensures the stores have efficient special ordering processes and schedules.
- Manages inventory levels in coordination with the purchasing team.
- Oversees receiving team to ensure that material received is completed on time and accurately.
- Conducts inventory adjustments and trains inventory leads on correct inventory adjustment procedures.
- Performs root cause analysis on inventory variances. Acts as the lead point of contact for inventory issues throughout the company.
- Maintain data and ERP systems daily for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes to ensure Epicor is being used to keep an accurate inventory in the system.
- Establish, track and report on department key performance indicators.
- Partner with operations and accounting to ensure complete and accurate inventory.
- Audits company-wide inventory to support the company goals regarding profitability, turns, and outages across all product categories and branches.
- Develops and implements inventory reporting in accordance with industry best practices.
Requirements :
- Five or more years’ experience in inventory management.
- Lumber yard experience preferred but not required.
- Previous experience with LBM software, such as Epicor is a plus.
- Competent knowledge of all Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel
