The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (LPA), nestled between the Vivian Beaumont Theater and the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center, is at the center of the performing arts in the performing arts capital.
It is one of the world’s most prestigious research and circulating libraries, illuminating vast international collections through scholarship, education, exhibitions, and programming.
It is an incubator of creativity, home to the performing artist, arts lover and scholar. It fosters the creative works of emerging artists and collects, documents and celebrates established artists, demystifying the creative process through unparalleled collections to the world at large.
Annually, LPA hosts over 200 public programs and 4 exhibitions in 5 spaces across the building, all in service to highlighting its archival holdings and inspiring the next generation of artists and arts lovers.
This position is a member of the Production and Exhibition Technologies team, which is responsible for the technical production of Public Programs, Events, and Exhibitions at the Library for the Performing Arts. Responsibilities
- Produce, as directed by Assistant Director, and shoot in-house performances, seminars, and interviews at LPA
- Edit archival footage for exhibitions, public programs, patron events, symposiums
- Produce, as directed by Assistant Director, shoot, and edit onsite and offsite documentations when requested by staff
- Collaborate with curators and their staff through the editing process and make suggestions for improvement
- Perform other duties as needed

Required Education, Experience & Skills
Required Education & Certifications
Degree or certification in film making, video production preferred
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience in videography and editing, preferably in the performing arts or in cultural heritage institutions
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications
- Knowledge of Final Cut Pro
- Some knowledge of documenting performing arts for archival or study purposes
