Starting $ 12-14 / hour depending on qualifications

Additional $2 / hour shift premium for early AM coverage (4 : 30am-10 : 30 am Monday - Friday) *

Troy Recreation is seeking a responsible, courteous, and highly-organized individual to join our team as a Recreation Aide at our Fitness Center.

This role involves a variety of tasks, including customer service, answering phones, processing membership and pass transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized Fitness Center.

This position reports to the Building Supervisors.

DUTIES

• Communication with patrons :
• Greet and welcome all patrons to the facility in a professional manner
• Ensure proper check-in of patrons to facility
• Answer phones and respond to inquiries
• Provide facility tours to new and prospective members
• Answer customer questions on fitness facility, membership options, and programs
• Process membership applications and day pass purchases with proper cash handling
• Input information into computer registration system correctly
• Accurate count of start-up and ending monies
• Accurate change counting
• Accurate sales transactions
• Facility Upkeep / Operations
• Daily and continuous cleaning of fitness desk, facility, and locker rooms
• Enforce all rules and regulations with patrons
• Help with daily facility operations
• Assist with accidents and incidents
• Any other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age 16 years
• Excellent computer skills
• Accurate cash handling skills
• As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a background check.
• As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).

PREFERENCES

• High School degree or GED equivalent
• One year of recent part-time experience in Recreation or Fitness fields, or closely related field.
• One year of recent part-time experience in a customer service role, including processing sales transactions on a computer.
• CPR / First Aid Certified

HOURS Part-time, year-round . Approx. 16-28 hours per week. Schedule and availability must be attentive to facility needs.

Multiple shifts available. Typical shifts are :

• Monday-Friday : 4 : 45-10 : 15 am, 10am-2 : 45 pm, 2 : 30-6 pm, 5 : 45-9 : 30 pm
• Saturdays-Sundays : 7 : 45 am-12 : 15 pm, 12-5 : 30 pm
