- JOB SUMMARY
- The Centralized Scheduling Representative responds promptly and courteously, by completely and accurately scheduling all ordered and add-on procedures utilizing the automated centralized patient scheduling system;
including adherence to all departmental procedures and policies. Communicates in a manner conducive to good customer service with providers / patients / co-workers.
Ensures that any previous records / films and facility are noted in record at time of scheduling; as well as conveys correct applicable information to incoming caller.
Assists with systems management. Ensures that Pre-Authorization Number for designated High Tech Imaging Exams is valid in order to guarantee hospital reimbursement for requested procedure.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : High School graduate.
- Experience : One (1) year customer service experience. Communication and telephone skills essential. Basic computer skills.

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : Enrolled in a Baccalaureate Degree program with a major in Healthcare.
- Experience : Previous Electronic Health Record and scheduling experience desired. Insurance knowledge preferred.

- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Keyboarding, customer service, telephone etiquette, computers. Familiar with medical terminology preferred. Familiar with ICD-9 and CPT Codes.
- READING - Intermediate : Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- WRITING - Intermediate : Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
- SPEAKING - Intermediate : Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills : Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
