Description

Amazon has the world's most complex supply chain : we fulfill global demand for hundreds of millions of products at lightning fast delivery speeds.

We need your skills in order to optimize our supply chain, with the end goal of delighting our customers. A core part of the operations is Forecasting : we forecast the demand of tens of millions of products up to a year into the future.

The forecasts are used to automatically order hundreds of millions worth of inventory weekly, decide where to place that inventory, and to establish labor plans for hundreds of warehouses.

Amazon's SCOT Forecasting team seeks a Principal Technical Product Manager with a proven ability to influence across multiple organizations and drive innovation.

In this role, you will create and drive the long-term product vision for both established use cases within an ever evolving Demand landscape and Supply Chain capabilities, as well as for green-field Forecasting products to inform product design, manufacturing, and procurement processes.

You will also be responsible for developing a strategy to accelerate our ability to experiment and launch products by marrying science innovation including Foundational Models and Large Language Models (LLMs), technical projects, and process improvements.

To this end, you will work closely with a team of product leaders, scientists as well as software engineers. Your work will be transformative to Amazon's supply chain, particularly for our newer businesses.

The ability to collaborate with and earn trust from engineering, science, and business stakeholders is critical to this role.

A successful leader in this role will be able to translate complex customer problems into technical solutions in an ambiguous and quick moving environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Defining the 3-5 year vision for both green-field Forecasting products as well as identify new use cases and improvements for existing solutions for manufacturing and product development purposes, and working with scientists and engineering to achieve that vision
  • Driving strategic communications (e.g. decision narratives, investment proposals)
  • Communicating, earning trust, and influencing stakeholders from multiple organizations
  • Working backwards from customers in the supply chain and business units to proactively identify opportunities
  • Experimenting and scaling new products and models from prototype to production worldwide
  • Diving into technical solutions and alternatives to understand areas of opportunity, defects, and customer needs

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations :

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning / driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience technical product management
  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
  • Experience working with Science teams and developing products that leverage deep learning
