Job Title : Aircraft Painter

Location : Windsor, CT

Duration : 3 Months (contract to hire)

Job Description : As an Aircraft Painter, you will prepare and paint aircraft surfaces, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards for appearance and protection.

You will work in a team-oriented environment, adhering to safety protocols and quality control measures.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed.
  • Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
  • Follow specific paint schemes and designs according to client specifications or company standards.
  • Paint detailed logos, insignias, and other markings using stencils, decals, or freehand techniques.
  • Perform touch-ups and minor repairs to maintain the aircraft's appearance.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for quality, uniformity, and compliance with standards.
  • Address any defects or imperfections identified during the inspection process.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
  • Comply with environmental regulations regarding the use and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and contamination.
  • Document materials used, work performed, and time spent on each project.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment, performing routine checks and minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training or certification in automotive or industrial painting is a plus.
  • Prior experience in automotive, industrial, or marine painting is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using spray guns, sanders, and other painting tools.
  • Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, and coatings used in the aviation industry.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to design specifications.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment and materials.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues related to surface preparation and paint application.

Work Environment :

  • Work primarily in hangars, paint booths, or other enclosed spaces.
  • May require working at heights and in varying temperatures.
  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and other hazardous materials necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols.
