Position Summary :
The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of nursing care delivery within an assigned unit in our skilled nursing facility. This leadership position ensures high-quality resident care, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient staffing and operational management. The Nursing Unit Manager serves as a clinical and administrative resource to nursing staff, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day nursing activities of the unit, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations.
Monitor residents’ health status and care plans, ensuring timely assessments, documentation, and interventions.
Lead, coach, and evaluate performance of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs); provide mentorship and support as needed.
Ensure appropriate staff scheduling and coverage to meet resident care needs and acuity levels.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning, admissions, discharges, and care conferences.
Promote and maintain a culture of safety, respect, and resident-centered care.
Conduct audits and quality assurance activities to support clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Respond to and investigate resident / family / staff concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in survey readiness, inspections, and implementation of plans of correction.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Maintain open communication with physicians, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and other providers involved in resident care.
