Summary of Job
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process.
This role will be based in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a state-of-the-art facility with best-in-class design and assembly capabilities with a dedicated team eager to solve complex protective packaging issues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conducts studies that determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
- Analyze production processes, methods, and other data to optimize production
- Resolve issues and delays in production using independent judgment and discretion
- Collaborate with remote engineering teams to prepare new machines for production release
- Work closely with vendors for prototypes and quotes
- Aid QA department with process improvement and drawing / work instruction updates
- Create and modify work instructions
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Design assembly fixtures and jigs to aid the assembly process
- Create 3-D part models and detailed assembly drawings using SolidWorks
- Store project files and 3D part files using SolidWorks PDM
- Balance multiple projects concurrently
- Initiate and execute engineering changes
- Domestic travel will be required periodically
Competencies (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
- SAP viewing and retrieving data
- Experience with 3D printing preferred
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability and willingness to work hands-on with projects
- Problem solving focus with ability to think creatively to troubleshoot machine issues, design constraints, and other roadblocks
- Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize
- A self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, staff, management, etc.

Physical Characteristics
- Sitting and standing : The ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, either sitting or standing
- Walking : The ability to move around the office to access files and machinery
- Lifting : The ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 20-25 pounds
- Hand-eye coordination : The ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, and other office equipment
- Vision : The ability to see clearly at close range, such as when working with small objects or reading small print, as well as the ability to adjust focus
- Hearing : The ability to understand and distinguish speech and other sounds, such as machinery alarms
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or other engineering disciplines considered
- At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Industrial engineering experience a plus
- Green Belt Lean / Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred) or 3+ years of working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles and tools
- 4+ years of experience using SolidWorks preferred, other CAD packages considered
- SAP or other ERP systems
