Litigation Attorney - Workers' Compensation

Plantation, FL 33317 - (Hybrid / Onsite Twice Weekly)

Compensation : $120,000$160,000 base,

• Lucrative tier-based commission from files closed (for example, 15 files closed a month $9,000 bonus quarterly).
• Benefits include 401(k) with profit-sharing, PAYS for your marketing, phone and travel reimbursement, health insurance, life insurance, and PTO reset annually.

Key Responsibilities :

• Shadow Senior Partners on depositions from as part of your training,
• Brief and debrief on cases with other Senior Attorneys and Partner .
• Strong understanding of Chapter 440 with ability to cite workers' compensation law in quality depositions.
• Adept at accommodating clients with virtual hearing platforms .
• Understand Technology used for law, such as case management software's, video conferencing apps, ( TEAMS legal referencing software (Westlaw)
• Provide legal defense against insurance carriers from claimants alleging workplace injury falling under Chapter 440.
• Analyze testimony, investigate claimant history for inconsistencies, patterns of behavior, etc.
• Cultivate existing client base through attending events, networking with carriers and discovering cases to analyze and determine worthiness of intake
• Generate business through leveraging the firms comprehensive and robust network with virtually any insurance provider in Florida.

Required Skills :

• At least 1 year of experience in workers compensation or insurance defense.
• 2-3+ years of practice as an attorney, with litigation experience and a passion for litigation.
• Experience building relationships with carriers and a rapport that upholds the firm's stature as a top-player in the practice area.
• Skilled in identifying and analyzing discrepancies during mediation.
• Ability to use legal investigative skills to uncover pertinent details.

Preferred Skills :

Spanish language proficiency. Self-starter!!! The firm has a very relaxed attitude; they will not hold your hand. However, you are strongly encouraged to regularly attend depositions with partners and leadership.

An engaging, client-focused personality, and a strong technical aptitude. Passion for litigation and particularly for a career in Workers' Compensation Defense.

Networking and marketing (all paid by the client) to expand business and uncover business from existing clients.
