is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Industrial / Commercial Construction Sr. Project Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of industrial and commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : -Estimating : Review plans, specifications, and perform quantity takeoffs to develop detailed scopes of work.
Collaborate with the estimating team to solicit and review subcontractor bids.Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site investigations to confirm project conditions.
Prepare and present bid proposals to internal and external stakeholders.Serve as the primary contact between the contractor, owner, and engineer during the bidding phase.
Conduct job handoff to the project superintendent and project manager for construction execution.-Cost Management : Understand and manage project budgets, striving to maximize profitability.
Resolve outstanding financial issues and disputes within 30 days, including change orders.-Schedule & Execution : Develop accurate baseline schedules and monitor progress weekly.
Collaborate with key subcontractors to ensure alignment with the project schedule.Ensure subcontracts are issued per the buyout schedule.
Support the superintendent in sequencing, logic, flow, and duration activities to maintain the project timeline.-People Development : Expand the scope, capability, and capacity of team members.
Actively seek opportunities to coach and develop talent within the organization.-Relationship Building : Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Establish long-term, mutually respectful relationships with customers.Balance customer needs with business objectives and profitability goals.
- Safety : Support superintendents in ensuring jobsite safety, aiming for zero incidents.Ensure routine safety audits are conducted by the project team.
- Quality : Ensure that company-established processes and procedures are followed consistently.Assist in developing additional QA / QC processes as needed per project requirements.
Prevent quality issues from negatively impacting the project financially, schedule-wise, or on customer relationships.The ideal candidate should possess : -Bachelor's degree or higher in civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering, or construction management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing industrial and / or commercial construction projects, with industrial experience being a plus.
- Must have experience working for a General Contractor or government agency acting as their own GC or overseeing other GCs-Must provide a portfolio including a list of minimum 5 projects within heavy industrial settings.
- Proficient in equipment planning and construction methods.-Ability to read and interpret job cost reports, plans, and specifications.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of construction and project management, including civil, electrical, mechanical, structural, and roofing disciplines.
- Ability to manage projects from concept drawings through completion on a fast-track schedule.-Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a construction team effectively.
- Experience with buyouts and subcontractor negotiations.-Problem-solving skills, creativity in finding solutions, and flexibility in resolving conflicts.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project management software such as Procore.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.-Ability to make sound decisions based on thorough analysis.-Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
