Qualifications - Required :
- Valid Ohio teaching licensure in Art;
- Ability to work collaboratively;
- Evidence of successful classroom teaching.

POSITION DESCRIPTION :
- Assumes responsibility for art instruction in individual, small group and whole classroom situations;
- Collaborates with other arts specialists, classroom teachers, community leaders and organizations to develop interdisciplinary units;
- Serves as an arts resource person to the building;
- Work with other arts specialists on school-wide programs and projects;
- Teaches standards-based lessons following the district pacing guides;
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies for each student’s academic growth;
- Proficient in using technology as an instruction and management tool;
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, fosters engagement, self-motivation, student self-direction and positive social interaction;
- Monitors / improves student behavior, attendance and academic progress;
- Designs a program which enhances education, social / emotional development growth;
- Incorporates technology in classroom lessons;
- Uses planning time to monitor and plan for student progress;
- Incorporates into the program a range of social services to benefit the overall development of the students;
- Compiles data necessary to evaluate the success of the program;
- Work closely with students and parents to guide students through school and future education and career choices;
- Keeps in close contact with home through periodic visits, phone calls and written communications;
- Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students;
- Work collaboratively to improve instruction and learning while sharing the responsibility for outcomes with school and community;
- Contribute to and participate in ongoing professional development, including working with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) model;
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations;
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required;
- Work closely with the building principal to collaboratively lead the school through a shared decision-making process;
- Work in collaboration with the district Fine Arts Learning Specialist;
- Reports to and carries out other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
