Responsibilities

Mainspring Energy is at the forefront of developing cutting edge products and is looking for a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer with significant experience in developing scaled manufacturing tooling and automation systems, capable of setting up the next generation factories and will report to NPI Senior Manager.

We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of precision tooling, material handling systems, and automation solutions for scaled production of a groundbreaking large electromechanical machine. This role will be critical in ensuring the successful manufacturing of high-precision components and assemblies at scale, focusing on quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision fixture design, automation systems, and material handling solutions such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), overhead lift assist systems, and robotic cells. Experience in precision measurement and laser-based assembly processes is a significant advantage. Additionally, this role requires end-to-end ownership, including sourcing, assembly, commissioning, and installation of designed systems.

Your critical contribution will be rewarding and directly enable Mainspring’s aggressive growth targets. Key activities will include the following :

Design and Development :

• Lead the design of high-precision fixtures, tools, and equipment for electromechanical assembly and testing.
• Develop material handling solutions, including AGVs, overhead lift assist systems, and custom conveyors.
• Implement precision measuring systems and laser alignment processes for high-tolerance assembly.
• Ensure all tooling and equipment meet rigorous quality and performance standards.

The Bay Area salary for this role is $120k-$135k base salary + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is on-site (hybrid) in Menlo Park, CA. The salary will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.
