Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Service Manager to oversee our automotive service department and ensure exceptional customer service and efficient operations.

The Automotive Service Manager will be responsible for managing a team of service technicians, coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance, maintaining inventory, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities :

  • Team Management : Supervise and lead a team of automotive service technicians, mechanics, and support staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a cohesive and productive team.
  • Customer Service : Interact with customers to understand their vehicle service needs, provide estimates, explain repairs, and address any concerns or questions.

Maintain a focus on delivering excellent customer service and building strong customer relationships.

Service Operations : Plan and schedule vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks based on workload, technician availability, and customer appointments.

Ensure that service orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.

  • Inventory Management : Monitor and manage inventory levels of automotive parts, supplies, and equipment. Place orders for replenishment as needed, track inventory usage, and ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.
  • Quality Assurance : Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that repairs and services meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

Conduct regular inspections and follow-up checks to address any issues promptly.

  • Cost Management : Monitor and control costs related to labor, parts, and overhead expenses. Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize profitability without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance and Safety : Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment for employees and customers, and address any safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Business Management, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience in automotive service management, including knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor employees to achieve performance goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, technicians, and other team members.
  • Proficiency in automotive service software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in automotive service and repair.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and customer needs.

Working Conditions :

  • This role typically works in an automotive service department or repair facility, which may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and mechanical hazards.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • May require working extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer appointments and service demands.
