Aviation Claims Specialist

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Aviation Claims Specialist that can report to any IAT location. This position will handle moderately complex Aviation Hull claims covering the entire United States.

The Aviation Claim Specialist is responsible for investigating the extent of the company's liability and will be responsible for handling first party aviation hull and bodily injury claims from inception until conclusion of the claim.

This role works a hybrid schedule from any IAT location. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Responsibilities :

• Handle moderate and high exposure claims relative to Aviation Aircraft & General Liability claims, based on Claim Best Practices Guidelines
• Investigate on-scene accidents as required
• Verify / analyze applicable coverage for the reported loss
• Establish 24-hour contact and maintain appropriate contact with all involved stakeholders throughout the life of the claim file
• Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews, taking statements, conducting website research as needed, reviewing and analyzing reports and related bills
• Identify potential red flags and suspicious claims and refer to SIU
• Set accurate / timely loss / expense reserves in compliance with Claim Best Practices Guidelines
• Evaluate, negotiate, and authorize settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority
• Select, direct and manage Vendors / Counsel including approval of defense budgets
• Negotiate directly with claimants and claimant attorneys upon receipt of critical information
• Draft correspondence, including but not limited to, coverage disclaimers, reservation of rights and liability denials as required
• Maintain resident / nonresident adjuster licenses as required
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications : Must Have :

Preferred to Have :

• Associates / Bachelors degree
• A&P license, Repairman Cert, or Pilot license

Compensation : Please note, that the annual salary range associated with this posting is $58,810 $92,920. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position.

The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
