Description
The Used Equipment Sales Representative locates, develops, and maintains new prospects and existing customers for the purpose of selling and buying machines.
Essential Functions :
- Assist in selling machines from Holt Heavy and Texas First rental fleets
- Assists in locating used machines for sales, rentals, and inventory purposes
- Maintains customer relationships in order to achieve rental, sales, and service revenue goals
- Manages the exchange and preparation of sold machines
- Manages and maintains sold machines paperwork and documentation through COTI
- Purchases machines for inventory and maintains records of sales or other business transactions
- Sources and grows sales with new business opportunities and develops new customers
- Purchases machines for In Territory salesman
- Demonstrates equipment and vehicles to customers
- Ability to communicate and understand both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with individuals and groups
- Travels to and from customer locations
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work Hours :
50+ hours a week, to include late evenings, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Knowledge of CAT products and product support services and programs
- Knowledge of inventory management and process
- Knowledge of safe work policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of sales techniques, financial, credit, and accounting principles
- Effective influencing skills which include motivating and developing new and existing customers
- Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills in order to build long term business relationships
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and other computer software
- Time management skills in order to develop plans for structuring self and others to attain maximum productivity by establishing deadlines, milestones, tasks, resources and achievement of goals and work results
- Communication skills and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments of the organization and customers in order to maintain and develop relationships
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, approaches, and prevention to problems
- Attention to detail and being thorough in completing work task
- Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately
- Ability to communicate and understand both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with individuals and groups
Education and Experience :
- Two or more years of experience required
- Ability to work with individuals and groups

Travel :
Up to 30% travel is to be expected
