The Toledo Clinic's Internal Medicine Department, Primary Care Partners, is seeking an experienced Office Manager. This position will oversee the day to day operations of a very busy and growing Internal Medicine practice.
Qualified candidates will have previous supervisory experience in a medical office, knowledge of office operations, EMR systems, and experience directing staff.
Candidates with a clinical background (RMA / CMA or RN / LPN) are preferred but not required. This is a full-time position, M-F, and offers employee benefits.
Located on Woodley Rd in Toledo, OH.

General Summary :
The primary responsibility is to ensure that the office operates effectively and efficiently and to manage the performance of employees
Works under the supervision of the physician(s).
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
Example of Essential Duties :
1. Delegate responsibilities to others and assure that staff members are performing their functions correctly.
2. Complete necessary payroll forms and authorize / deny overtime or PTO time requests.
3. Monitor and improve, when necessary, employee morale.
4. Effectively communicate with the Drs. and staff and keep them updated on issues of concern.
5. Attend medical office manager meetings.
6. Maintain personal relations with patients and address and resolve patient complaints or concerns.
7. Monitor the office's operation and make adjustments in order to improve upon patient care, ergonomics, employee relations, etc.
8. Maintains adequate equipment and supplies and acquires proper approval for capital expenditures.
9. Develops goals (in conjunction with physicians) and follows through to completion.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to) :
10. Complete medical coding paperwork and / or handle collections.
11. Analyze and interpret department financials and assist with budget formation.
12. Perform clinical and / or clerical work for the betterment of the medical office.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Required :
- Previous medical office experience required.
- Adheres to, and ensures department's compliance with, the clinic's policies and procedures and governing rules and regulations.
- Maintains awareness of the department's budget and works within the budgetary figures.
- Effectively recruits, retains, disciplines and trains staff.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- May require travel if working in a multi-location practice.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures
Education :
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Medical related certification, Associates or Bachelor's degree and / or Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school preferred.
Strongly Preferred :
- Supervisory experience in a medical office preferred.
- Medical Coding education and previous coding experience preferred.
- CPC or CCS-P or able to pass Toledo Clinic's comprehensive coding test preferred.
