Job Description
The Brook KMI is a -bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adolescents, adults and seniors.
Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, pastoral counselors and activity therapists.

Mental Health Associate
Serves as an active member of the clinical staff; maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean, therapeutic environment;
assures patient participation in program activities; and performs technical / patient care duties relative to patient’s health and safety.
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
- Knows location and condition of all patients at all times
- Ensure proper hand off of clinical information
- Performs safety checks daily and as needed per guidelines
- Manage group of patients in outside activities; i.e., A.T., outings, walks, meals, and study
- Assists in management of behavior and control of destructive behavior per facility guidelines
- Recognizes signs of impaired social interaction and motivates patients toward desired cooperation
- Teaches alternatives to destructive behavior

Qualifications
- Education High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Years of experience needed No experience required. Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
- Certifications Must maintain current CPR certification.
- Computer skills Ability to : gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys; enroll in company benefits.
- Communication Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors.
- Team work Must be able to actively participate in a treatment team environment.
