About The Position
Job Title : Mammography Technologist Job Specialty : Mammographer Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience License : RT or RT (R) (M) Certifications : BLS Certification Must-Have : - Valid certifications and licensure - Understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology Job Description : - Administer ionizing radiation when performing screening and / or diagnostic mammograms according to established protocols.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and subsequent evaluation of imaging parameters to optimize patient imaging and care while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.
- Integrate technical skills, patient interaction, and care to obtain viable diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
- Utilize independent professional judgment and critical thinking to obtain diagnostic information and seek direction from a qualified interpreting physician or lawful institutional policies to continue or discontinue the exam.
- Remain sensitive to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner.
- Participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess professional performance. - Comprehend the complexities of appropriate state and federal regulations and have knowledge of the quality control and quality assurance requirements for mammography.
- All placements require vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19. - Electronic Medical Records system used is EPIC.
- Holiday coverage required.
