JobSummary :
The SQL DBA will be responsiblefor the implementation configuration maintenance and performance ofcritical SQL Server systems.
The ideal candidate will have a deepunderstanding of SQL Server architecture a passion for performancetuning and a proactive approach to database management.
Thisposition also involves collaborating with development teams toensure database integrity and security.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Install configure and upgrade SQL Serverdatabases and related applications.
- Monitordatabase performance implement changes and apply new patches andversions when required.
- Perform database tuningand optimization including index management query optimization anddatabase profiling.
- Plan and implement backupand recovery strategies including regular testing of backupprocedures.
- Manage database storage monitorspace usage and plan for capacitygrowth.
- Ensure high availability and disasterrecovery of SQL databases through the use of clustering mirroringreplication and Always On AvailabilityGroups.
- Develop implement and maintain databasesecurity policies and procedures including user management and roleassignments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve databaseissues including performance bottlenecks deadlocks and connectivityproblems.
- Collaborate with development teams todesign and review database schemas queries and storedprocedures.
- Document database architecturesconfigurations processes andprocedures.
- Provide oncall support as part of arotation for critical database issues.
- Stayupdated on SQL Server technology advancements best practices andindustry trends.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceInformation Technology or a related field.
- 5years of experience as a SQL DatabaseAdministrator.
- Extensive experience withMicrosoft SQL Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019.
- Strongknowledge of SQL Server architecture backup and recovery strategiesand performance tuning.
- Experience with SQLServer high availability and disaster recovery technologies (AlwaysOn Availability Groups Clustering orMirroring).
- Proficient in TSQL with strongquery optimization and performance tuningskills.
- Experience with SQL Server IntegrationServices (SSIS) Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services(SSAS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with WindowsServer operating systems and PowerShellscripting.
- Strong analytical and problemsolvingskills.
- Excellent communication skills with theability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnicalteams.
- SQL Server certifications (MCSA MCSE)are a plus.
