Dragline Mechanic
The Dragline Mechanic for Titan America, LLC Pennsuco Quarry Aggregates Division in Medley, FL. This wage non-exempt position is assigned to the Maintenance Department and will report to the Dragline Supervisor.
The Dragline Mechanic is responsible for the performance of skilled mechanical tasks in the major repair of the dragline.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform all required safety checks and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform repairs of moderate to high difficulty in the field without direct close supervision.
- Maintain equipment and acquire parts and tools as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on the draglines.
- Perform related or similar duties as required or assigned in the shop or field.
- Prepare parts list from compute generated list or parts manuals.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to the draglines.
- Maintain records of work performed.
- Maintain exterior, interior shop and work area cleanliness according to company policy and industrial waste handling procedures.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Qualifications :
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy
- Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding
- Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
- Experience in Dragline maintenance (preferred)
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
- Ability to understand and follow the oral and written instructions sufficient to carry out repair orders and understand maintenance records and equipment specifications.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics.
- Ability to maintain basic records for repair work done.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
- Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
- Must be able to work overtime as required by management.
- Must possess hand tools.
- Thorough knowledge of the operating and repair characteristics of a variety of heavy equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical service manuals.
- Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.
- Ability to read blue prints, diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to train personnel.
- Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Capable of working in confined spaces.
- Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear.
- High School diploma or GED; or 3 or more years related experience and / or training.
- High degree of accuracy in a fast paced and multi-task environment.
- Have a current driver’s license.
Shift :
Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
